2001 mitsubishi eclipse spider problem

Q: For some reason it wants to blow headlights like crazy. I've tried the Sylvania halogen bulbs several times and regular bulbs also. I also have a 2001 Hyundai Elantra GLS and it also has the same problem. Just a hour ago at autozone. I purchased a Sylvania set for $50.00 put them in at the store turned my headlights on and it blew lately they have been burning out about every 6 to 4 months. If any one has any info. I could use I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for your time looking at this problem. i

A: If you are touching the glass part of the bulb when you install them, that's your problem. The oils from your skin get on the bulb and cause the gas inside to over heat making the bulb blow out prematurely. Always wear gloves when changing the bulbs. If that's not the case, you may have a bad voltage regulator. This could allow the alternator to over charge. This will also blow out lights prematurely.
