Q: I was waiting in a bus loading zone online for this girl to come down so i could drop papers off to her. Low and behold a meter maid comes up and starts saying something. He was indian so I couldn't understand him well. Anyways I say im leaving soon, shes almost down. As i say that the girl is knocking on my Passenger window. So i get out and say look see shes here. So as i give her the papers he's copying down my tag. I zoom off! He had a good chance and anyone with half a brain could have copied down my plate numbers in the amount of time it took me to leave. So what now? I never got the ticket and he was only there for less then 1 minute. Literally! Call and see if i got the ticket? Does he have the right to give me the ticket? I cant stand buses. I didnt park there in spite of buses. and there was plenty of room for busese to go there. It was a whole block for buses to park and i was near the corner. Most meter maids are someone nice and just tell you to get out of the way. not this one!
A: If you were standing right next to the car during this scene, you can fight the ticket. If you get a ticket, you can say something like "I dont know what you are talking about" or "I thought it was a retarded guy waving flags so he can cross the street". If they can actually prove that it was your car that zoomed off, fight the ticket. By mail youll probably get a rejection letter, but then you can schedule a court appearance. When you get the date, postpone it, and select the 2nd date they give you.
