Q: Ok, I know states differ as to traffic code, and I am in Michigan, but here is the scenario: A north/south road that does not stop. An east/west with stop signs at the intersection. Car heading east gets to intersection first and is turning left, has to wait for cross traffic. Car heading west gets to stop sign in the meantime, and is traveling straight through the intersection. Who has the right of way?
A: legally? the car headed west. in polite society? the car headed east. if you are the car headed west, you should allow the car headed east to cross first, BUT if there is an accident the car headed west was in the right.
