Q: I'm worried that when i have kids and they are old enough to drive that they wont wear their seat belt, and trust me i have had a few experiences where a seat belt saved my life. and i was wondering why don't they do this. if you drive drunk they can put one of those breathalyzers *whatever they are called) in your car and you must breath in it to start it up. so i was thinking, parents should be able to buy something that goes under the seat and hooked up to the belt and the car. it records that there is weight in the seat and it wont turn on till the seat belt is put on. it also records if the seat belt is taken off during the driving session and how far out the belt goes *just in case they buckle it in behind them* this is just a weird "im being bored thought" but what do you think?
A: what you have to do is teach your children from a very early age to always wear their seatbelt. every time my daughter gets in a car, she buckles up. and she is sure to call me out if i'm not wearing mine. it's not about defiance to stop wearing it, it's made up from the habit of wearing it.
